Physical monsters are easier for a Fighter to fight.
Magical monsters are easier for Mages.
At higher levels, magical monsters will always hit Fighters, and physical monsters will always lay the smack down on mages.
Does anyone have types/notes for these?

Would I be “giving out too much” if I posted the secrets to the Giant Snake and the Demon Lord on this page?
Seems like a good plan to me - the entire wiki is “metagame” info already.
I didn't even know there was a 'Demon Lord' monster out there… do share! :)
He gives you a hellcat (fire weapon) if you pass his test successfully. You go into his room and he blocks all exits, but will not attack. He will summon imps. Kill the imps and he brings more imps. Keep killing them until they are all gone. As I recall, there were not any summoning messages – so keep using the look command to confirm the room is empty. After all of the imps are dead, attack the demon lord and he rewards you with the sword and lets you by.
My earth warrior was level 17 I think when he did it, so the task is not overly challenging. The imps were hitting back sometimes though and I occassionally, but seldomly, had to drink. He was cheap and using maroons at the time, so not so bad.
While I have not tested it due to the painful nature of death in Crossroads, I do suspect the following:
* 1. Attacking the demon lord before killing the imps may prove fatal? It may not, honestly - never tried in this order.
* 2. I did it with a warrior - If you were a caster and casted an area of effect damage spell, it might aggress the demon, which takes us back to #1. Although the sheer number of imps may make single-casting so exhausting of SP that a caster may never have enough potions for the job, unless perhaps very high level using a low level spell (a level 30 Air Wizard could probably do it by spamming the starter-spell whip). Of course if aggressing the demon BEFORE killing the imps is not harmful, then area of effect might be the way to go.
The actual location of the demon lord is on the fire map, as difficult as it is to understand. For those of you who have played MUDs, you liken the rock to a boat that passes by at intervals and follows a circuit, passing by several destinations. I think you can stand in the lake of fire under khalas and if you wait around you'll see a message in the room about a rock traveling by. That is your ride to the demon lord.
